Arame (also known as sea oak) is a species of kelp

A good source of fiber that is naturally rich in vitamins and minerals, including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, and iodine. Adding even a small amount of sea vegetables to your daily diet has many health benefits, and promotes healthy glowing skin and strong silky hair. Our Pacific Arame is packaged in dark brown strands. Arame has a mild, sweet flavor, and firm texture. This is versatile sea vegetable because of of its mild taste.   To prepare, add water to almost cover and simmer until the vegetable is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed (about twenty-five minutes). Season with sesame oil and mirin and top with sesame seeds. Delicious!
