Farm Fresh Harvested Shiitake Mushrooms
The shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is a cultivated edible mushroom native to East Asia which is consumed worldwide. It is considered a medicinal mushroom in some forms of traditional medicine, especially in Japan. Contrary to common belief, Shiitakes are NOT a wild harvested mushroom, but rather they are cultivated by inoculating oak logs with the Shiitake Mycelium, which then take one to two years to flush out. (Japanese - "Shii" means Oak, "Take" means Mushroom)
These are premium, naturally cross-hatched type that can run quite large (occasionally more than six inches across)
